I think this came from my Americuana and if it did, its her first egg she's laid.....
How can that happen?
What color is the inside of each egg shell? Perhaps she put so much brown pigment on the outer egg it looks brown.
And people always say it's absolutely impossible for a green egg layer to lay a brown egg! Just goes to show anything's possible given certain circumstances!
Wow - that's something you don't see every day!
She is one of my lavender americuanas, her sister laid a blue/greenish egg just like the inner one here yesterday. The inside of the outer shell looked light brown, just like a regular brown egg shell. I will crack the inner egg open tonight when I get home from work. Friends from work all asked what was in the inner egg? I thougth nothing of it and put in the fridge...
That's quite rare to find something like that! An Ameraucana I once had laid a double-yolker as her first egg.
Wow way cool!
