An inexpensive grain mill, or home made grinder. Any ideas?

With grain mills you definitely get what you pay for.

But first you need to ask yourself what exactly do you want the grain mill to do for you?

Is it to be for grinding animal feed? In that case a mill that can grind flour fine is excessive and you can do much better with a mill that grinds more coarsely.

But if fine flour is what you want and you want some sort of non-electric means of driving it then the Country Living is an excellent and durable mill. Shop around though because there are many dealers that carry them.

Get yourself a malt mill. They are cheaper than feed mills.

Why do you want a mill anyway? Gizzards are the cheapest mill by far.
