Hello there! I am not sure if there is a thread already about these gorgeous birds, but I plan to make one! If anyone else has some of this breed, please stop by and share your photos and stories!

#1 of 3 Ancona pullets! (This is either Tama, or Maya)

Congrats! They are stunning breeds, and regular white layers even in the cold weather of the PNW. However if you’re enclosure, like a run, does not have coverage, they will fly up onto high places.

Our fencing is close to 6 feet and they scale that even after we clip their flight feathers.
I am getting back into chickens this year and have chosen to add 3 of these beauties to my flock! I'm so excited and new to the breed but did my research on the hatchery site! Beautiful ladies!

LOVE our single Ancona girl. She was the first to lay and the most consistent. Strangely she was also the first one to go broody (at 5 months...). Hatched herself a neighbor's eggs, two hatched, one got stuck. Excellent mama for 13 weeks and then back to laying eggs every day for us. Love her so much. She is definitely flighty and an escape artist though.

2nd pic is her chick at 14 weeks still following her around.

This is our Ancona, Her name is Magda. She's about 10 and a half years old if I'm not mistaken (which is very possible) but point is, she's old lol. But she doesn't seem to be slowing down!

I'm considering one of these for my flock, and have questions about temperament and a couple of other things. Moving my questions to a new thread, here. Thanks!
