Sorry for the bad pictures, I was trying to get pictures while holding my baby.

I ordered straight run Welsummer, I don't see any males. I ordered female Anconas, I see all males!!

I can take closer pictures if need be.

And I was wondering what this little guy is too. Any ideas? He was the free rare chick.

    How old are they?

But they do look like cockerels, including the 'rare' chick, which are almost always male.

And I do think the welsummers are pullets

They are 4 weeks old. The mystery chick is definitely a boy, I'm just not sure what breed.

    Geez, what are the odds.

What hatchery are they from? That can help narrow down the options.

Your free chick looks like a Silver Phoenix to me.

The free chick is a Silver Phoenix cockerel. Anconas do tend to develop large combs (even the hens), but I agree that all of yours are looking like cockerels.

I Googled and he does look like that breed. Thank you!

So 4 male Anconas when I wanted females, and 5 female Welsummer when I wanted a rooster, lol!

I remember the leghorn females I had, had larger combs even young. I was remaining hopeful that was the case with the Anconas. But they look like a bunch of boys.
