over a month ago my hen went broody, so i gave her a couple jersey giant eggs (even though she is a rode island red)
she hatched them and they are 3 and a half weeks old. she is a fantastic mother,
one of my other hens looks after the chicks two, they have 2 mothers!
they are both great mothers but i have a problem,
i have 3 13 week old buff orpingtons i hatched in an incubator, they have been outside since they were 8 weeks.
the two mothers of the chicks are viciously attacking my buff orpingtons, when my buff orpingtons go anywhere in a 3 foot radius of the moms or chicks, both mothers attack her. and i mean attack. they jump on her, peck her, pull feathers off her, ect.
the buffs are terrified when the moms go near them.
they can keep their distance but the moms come to them and attack them.
what can i do?

Well that's a new one. Never heard of two mothers ; ). For right now I'd build a temporary pen for the buffs or mothers/chicks so there is no fighting. Whenever a hen is broody she's gonna be vicious to outsiders. Hope this helps! : )
