Just got our first chicks after 10 years of begging by the kids. They've dubbed me their very own crazy chicken lady. What's amazing is how many other "crazy chicken people" are out there and don't say anything! It's like some secret society that you can only know about if you have chickens. So our adventure begins with 7 Buff Orps, 6 Gold Laced Wyandottes and 6 Ameraucana mutts. Should be intereresting.

Gosh, we have almost 100 people at work, and I'm the ONLY one that raises chickens...well, I take that back. There are 2 others, but I'm the only one nuts enough to raise enough to sell eggs!

Welcome, from Northern California!
I just got back from a 2 day company retreat, and I was blown away by how much I missed my chickens, and how often I wanted to talk about them!
I returned just before dark last night; The chooks had already gone to bed but they came out to greet me and eat some clover treats. Thank goodness for BYC, where I can feel like a relatively sane chicken lady!
