a wild mallard duckling near my house that we have fed everyday since he was born (he’s still wild and can find his own food, don’t worry) turned 13 weeks old today. he still can’t fly and his mom keeps leaving him and trying to get him to follow but he cannot fly? what age do mallards normally start flying? if he can’t fly this winter we are worried he will not survive. i’ve heard of ducks getting angle wing and not being able to fly but it doesn’t look like he has that so how can we make him fly away (there is a lot of predators around that pond that have killed ducklings in the past)
