Hi All!
Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself! Lucky me, my town recently changed their bylaws so that now I can have up to 6 chickens in my yard! I have always loved chickens! In 8th grade, my science fair project was to hatch one, and also talk about the development of the chicken. Got into the local newspaper, won an award, and had lots of fond memories of that chicken! Unfortunately, my kitty at the time...ummm....well, that cutie chick went to the coop in the sky. So, here I am, years later and I can finally indulge in a real coop! I have been doing a lot of research, reading, and coop planning and will be breaking ground on the coop tomorrow. Looking to have RI Reds and Barred Rocks, since I live in an area that gets chilly. If anyone has any special information on those 2 breeds, I would love input, or anything else you might want to add!
