I have four Araucanas that are almost 6 weeks old - straight run. What do you think? 4 cockerels? 4 pullets? I'm hoping at least 1 pullet.

    First is a roo.

2nd and 3rd look like pullets and the last a roo, but I'm not certain.

Quote:Thanks for taking a look. I'm pretty sure #1 is a roo, too. He's bigger than any of the others, and the comb is much more noticeable already. #4 doesn't have as large a comb, but he/she looks rooish. I would be thrilled if two of the four are pullets.

I wouldn't say anything yet. My girl's comb lookied like that from a younger age. It hasn't grown any bigger, though! At six weeks, I'm thinking they look a bit under feathered. Try removing their heat a bit more.

Quote:Thanks, I took out the heat lamp completely yesterday. So hopefully feathers will start coming in better. I had them in with some younger chicks - so I left the heat lamp in there a little longer than I probably needed to.

I think you have 1 roo and 3 pullets, the last picture is a little to blury for me to tell but looks female.

The last one is a definite cockerel, the rest I'm very unsure of but look to be pullets so far.

Well, the first seems a cockerel, actually.
