I know there is another post below mine about a sick silkie but I wanted to make a separate post for myself.
I know kittens and puppies sometimes get a little discharge from their eyes that gets crusty and you can use a bit of warm water to help open it again. Is it the same with chickens? Is there anyway to prevent this? No other symptoms. Looked like some of her flock might have started to peck at her, she is only a little girl not very high on the pecking order.
Separated her from the others so she could have some peck-free peace and quiet. She was a bit sleepy this morning. Warm water opened up her eye and a warm towel from the dryer made her one happy chicken. What causes these crusty eyes in pets/chickens? Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated!
