i found this egg today in the coop. any help would be great.
Uh, not a chicken egg. That would be my guess.
Very weird if it is one...
all that is in the coop is chickens. it was in the nest box. the thing on the left was a soft sack like a shell. as far as the 2008 that is form the old camera
Could they have brought this in from the outside, either by the chickens or in their litter when it was added?
they hadn't been outside yet this morning and it was warm on the inside still and i live in wisconsin it was rather cold
That looks like it could be a "lash egg". I've never seen one, but if you look it up in the search box at the top of the page, there are lots of (gross) pictures and descriptions.
The outside soft egg shell I get, it's the weird inside that puzzles me.
Unless a piece of tissue traveled down the oviduct and got a partial soft egg shell placed around it and then was ejected from the vent, I'm out of ideas.
It's an interesting puzzle
Edit: "Lash Egg" I think is the answer. 1Teacherchick got it. Nice find!
i looked at the pics about lash egg and i think that is it im going to look it up to see why it happens if i can get past all the pics if anybody knows please post some more info
