Another word for a chicken coop that starts with a c?

I read on here last week either in the forums or in an article some discussion of coop design that I think centered on making the coop fit the needs of the chicken as much as the needs of us humans. I also think it might have had some discussion of building exercise into the coop and run design. Like getting rid of the ladder and having things for the chickens to hop on to get to the roost.

The author (or the person the author was referencing) used a word that wasn't coop and used it in contrast to the word coop. I did not know the word, but in context it seemed like it was referencing a certain style of chicken coop or shelter for animal that had different features or goals than the typical coop.

I can't for the life of me find that discussion because I can't quite remember the term. I've searched like crazy. I know it started with a "c" and was something along the lines of cotes, or cyotes, etc.

Ring any bells?

I want o do more in depth research on what the author was referencing.

Thanks!
