Thought these were Barred Rocks until I got them home and saw the feathered feet. Tail is upright -one has a weird comb with three rows like in the photos. French cuckoo maran Boy or Girl?

They are pretty and unique looking. I'm thinking they are cross bred. Hope you find out! [IMG]

I have had these for 8 weeks. The barred ones are quite large now:)

That is the strangest comb on the first bird. I think that they are Marans, Cochen and Dominique mixes. Looks like they have a gentle temperament

looks like a cucko maran but they tend to be a bit testy, mine are 6 wks and already trying to peck my hand.

Well, I think the first one is a boy, the second is a girl. As for what they are, idk for sure. I'm not really familiar with Marans, don't know if the first one could be a Marans or a mix. Those feathered legs are cool! The pattern is pretty poor on the pullet, I'm guessing either very poorly bred or a mix breed.

first is a roo, possable marans mix (doesnt have the baring as on my doms or bared ones but still a poss), 2nd is a hen possable silver laced wayndott, bared, or marans mix, just my guess

Thanks for the input. They are just for pets no breeding [IMG] The large barred girls are friendly and when they run it sounds like a herd of elephants. Not very graceful!
