Nope. It's not at all normal for chicks of any age to get bumblefoot. And the foot must first be cut for it to be bumblefoot. That's how the bumbles start. The foot gets cut, the staph infection sets in, and the body seals off the infected pocket, forming a bumble. It's not something that happens in a day or two. It can take weeks from initial injury for a bumble to form. The picture you posted just looks like slightly dirty feet.

I've heard people say you cut it open? Should we do that with the ducks?
