DH is doing a friend a favor and taking their cockerels to auction. I'm considering keeping one and would like any input you may have on this bird as they leave for auction in 10 minutes. Thanks in advance!

Sorry for the horrible photos. It's the one in the middle im looking at. He seems to have a bit of a crest, slightly fluffy cheeks and feathered legs. Guessing a mix but would love some input.

Without knowing your reason for wanting him, it would be difficult to advise. ie. just for looks, for breeding purposes.... if so eggs or meat or DP... , for flock leader/protection?

I'm guessing that he is possibly an EE/Brahma cross. Temperament is pretty important with roos if you are going to keep them and it would be difficult to assess that in 10 mins.

I wanted him for flock protection. Our rooster was agressive to the hens, often scalping them, so he went to auction. Hopefully this guy has a better temperament because I kept him. Thank you for taking the time to reply. It is appreciated. :)
