Any idea what this airplane(Helicopter) is doing?

If you look at the bottom of the airplane you can see the oval thing that it is pulling. I have never seen anything do this before and not sure what they are up to. They have been flying over our property for a couple of days now.

I don't know thats quite odd. Ill have to ask my dad he might know, he knows alot about planes.

I've never seen anything like this either. It could be doing some mapping, but I can't be sure. Is the aircraft military?

I think its a helicopter and i would guess it is collecting information about airborne poultants or other stuff thats in the air

Maybe they wanna see how many reports on UFO's they can get??

It looks like an oversized metal detector. They could be mapping the mineral content/locations. Are there mining operations in your area?

They chaged planes yesterday it did look like a military one. We are also close to fort drum so not to sure about if that would have anything to do with it. It was kinda scary because yesterday it was flying over top of our house.

Maybe you could call the fort and ask if it is them and what it's about. I'm sure they expect people to be curious about such a thing!
