I left on vacation for ten days and when I returned my incubator (that I built using the BYC coolerbator instructions and an old minifridge) had blown both bulbs. The temp was 73 inside and I thought for sure the chicks would all be dead. Aparently not! I candled them the next day and noticed a few were still moving around and yesterday they started hatching. I have 20 hens (RIR, delaware, SLW, leghorn and some crosses) and three roosters (one RIR and two EE). They are all in the same coop and i know i am going to get mostly mutts. But i was wondering if anybody thinks i have any straight RIR chicks? I think a couple of the red ones look more like sex linked which would be the RIR roo and my delaware or SLW hens. But i could be wrong.
Anybody want to take a guess?
