Any silkies around Boise, ID?

Once I get my husband on board I'll be on the hunt for some silkies! Does anyone know of any breeders/hatcheries in the area that have silkies? I'd need females only, and I would love to have at least one blue splash!

Silkies are Bantams and will be very hard if not impossible to sex as chicks. You are going to have to look for older ( for silkies this can be 3-9 months) chickens if you want reliable sexing. Id advise thinking about going straight run and rehoming your boys, you are more likely to find local. Good luck however!

Thanks! These will be my first chickens if I can talk DH into it. Is there a guide to sexing them somewhere?

Hello. Dunlap Hatchery in Caldwell has silkies. Only straight run though.

Thanks! I seen their website. They don't show blue silkies though. I'll have to give them a call closer to when I'm ready to purchase and see if they have them.
