and ideas to dehydrate?
I have a Nesco - its going right now with a load of Jerky
I, too, have the Nesco. My DH uses it for venny jerky and it is great. I am working on apples and bananas right now. Wouldn't trade it for the world.
They seem to be pretty affordable too!
We invested in an Excalibur this year and have no regrets! It is a great dehydrator.

Drying foods with the sun has been around for over 4000 years. Below are two sites on how to build a Solar Food Dehydrator.
As for ideas on what and how to dehydrate...the dehydrator will come with a booklet that will tell you the care and use of it along with some basic recipees. For more ellaborate ones try the Nesco American Harvest site. Click on recipees, dehydrator, and search. Here is a link, hope it works, but if not, just go on the site. Hope it helps! Have fun! Once you start, you'll never buy store bought dried items again.
ETA the link. Too young to have memory issues.
Thank you everyone - That solar drying looks neat, plus I have a bunch of great sunlight hear in texas most of the time!!
