Any tell tale signs?

My hens are between four and a half and five months old. I am hoping they start laying soon. I've never had chickens before and was wondering if they give off any tell tale signs when they are nearing the right time?

They will start getting more vocal, really making sounds that are the stereotypical "bok bok" when you think of a chicken. My girl who is laying got very friendly. She would always come running to me and when I would reach out to pet her she did the squat with the tapping feet. It is very funny and you case miss it when it happens. Not long after that, she started laying.

When one squats it means she has reached "sexual maturity" (if you want a better definition ask somebdy else!!!! I don't want to go in depth into that kinda stuff!) and will lay an egg within about 2 weeks, maybe one week... they do become friendlier, i have noticed that when i go out, they will all come running and follow me around the yard.. they only stop following me when I want them to go in....

(they are easy to catch when they squat though!)
