A bit early to tell Barry here with the orange Ring was crowing at 7 weeks.
Look at the last shot before his full tail developed I couldn't tell then either till one morning..........
All these are Roos
This morning Barry came out of the coop with an extreme limp
I think one of the sheep may have butted him or he sprained something chasing the Hens all over the place!
I will give him a week in our recovery pen and see what happens
Sadly a similar thing happened to one of his Brothers and he did not improve so he became soup!
I don't want to do the same with Barry as he was a milestone Roo, the first Chicken ever to crow here!
Well ours were crowing long before they had any obvious Rooster feathers the one above with the Green leg ring was the very last to crow and we hoped was a Hen.
We called him Gerry but Gerry became Gary!
We did not realise at the time that of the 7 we hatched all but one were Roos and Gerbil the only hen does look very different now, here she is below with Leo one of this years spring Lambs
