Any tips for a newbie in Rosemount, MN?

Hello,

For the past two years I've wanted a chicken. First I just wanted one to eat all the spiders that like to cover our lawn in webs. But now I think I would like two bantams as pets. I have 1/3 acre lot that is mostly back yard. How crazy cool is it to see a chic hatch and then raise it! Also it'll be fun to have fresh eggs! And chickens have so much personality and are beautiful.... sigh...

Any how. Does anyone live in Rosemount that can give me any hints on deciphering our city's code? Is it difficult to get a chicken coop plans passed?

I've already enjoyed reading a lot of thing on here.

I didn't see one for Rosemount, but I just talked to the police department about it today!!! And the regulations are pretty simple. So excited! Any tips would be welcomed.
