...on the sex of my RIR's? They are four weeks old. Thank you.
It is probably a little bit too early to tell. But none of them is screaming "roo" yet. So it is possible they are all girls. Give it a couple more weeks and repost new pics. By 6 weeks you should see lots of comb and wattle reddening and growth in "roos".
When we picked them up yesterday, the lady I got them from said she thought the pullets were the ones with the smaller combs so we picked out five. There were some that had very prominent, dark colored combs. These chicks are four weeks old and there were about a hundred of them.
I'd agree. Nothing jumps out saying ROO. The one on the left in the last two pics could be, but I'll still say hens...if it were a roo i think the waddles would show more.
I am guessing all pullets!!!!!!
Both look like pullets.
I am going to guess they are both girls since they look just like my RIR girl did at that age
They look like girls to me (granted I'm new at this).
Thanks to all, that makes me feel better. My son has already named them.
I'm not sure what sex they are, but the're beautiful. I hope my 5 day old RIR's look like that in a month.
