My arm just fell out of my sling and I didn't even know it. This is the wierdest feeling. I just noticed it swinging around by my leg, I can't even feel my arm at all

for those of you that don't know I cut my fingers off this summer building a chicken coop (what else LOL!!)
Well I had to go today for more sugery. They numbed my whole arm. it is by far the wierdest feeling

I hope you are healing up well! I remember when that happened.

I had surgery on my shoulder last Thursday - I opted for the whole knock me unconcious thing. It was something where they could have just numbed it but I don't numb-up well and it wears off too fast.

How long do they expect the affect to last?

They said till early evening but it is just about 5pm and it is still totally numb. I sure hope it wears off soon. Of course then the pain will start but I have pain pills for that !!!

At least my one finger (middle one) has a tendon now, so once it starts bending it won;t look like I'm giving everyone the finger!!!

I've had my leg done - they blocked it for surgery when they reconstructed my knee.

Believe me, I knew when it started wearing off!! Owieeee!!!! It was strange, especially before surgery. It just wasn't.....there. LOL!

DH had a tendon transfer surgery 2 years ago and said it was pretty weird to not feel his arm! Keep those pain meds close, when it wears off you might be needing them [IMG]

I recall reading about a guy who had a stroke and lost feeling in his leg.

He spent the entire afternoon trying to throw it out of his bed ('IT'S NOT MINE!'). Every time he went WITH the leg and fell on the floor, he was surprised.
