If I can produce enough BSF larvae to feed our small flock will the chickens be ok with that and free ranging? I know it sounds a little far fetched but I think I can produce >3lbs of larvae a day, if each laying hen needs approx. 1/4lb per day of feed then I can easily feed 12 chickens and let them supplement with whatever they find while "out on the range". Our flock isn't 12 chickens yet...... but chicken math may make it that way.
