I recently saw a video on Youtube about what great dogs they are... Anyone have any experience with the breed?

I have a 13 year old female dog that is half Black Mouth Cur, a quarter Border Collie, and a quarter McNab. Her litter was bred up by a friend who specializes in breeding ranch/farm dogs for his friends. All I'm getting at is her litter was deliberately made, not a chance occurance. Incredable dog. She is our chicken dog. She can protect, and herd them. She would herd chickens right into my husbands hands. If the chickens started fighting among themselves, she will break up the fight by getting in between them. She will look up at Hawks or owls, and follow them from tree to tree. She won't hesitate to do battle with a coon. She will run off coyotes. The black mouth Cur was put into this mix to add courage and ruggedness to the border collie, McNab side. Her father was the Black Mouth Cur. Everyone who got one of these dogs was pretty impressed. Most are being used for cattle work. There was only one who did not cut it as a cattle dog as far as I know.
My dog is my right hand dog. She's getting older now, and I am thinking of possibly getting a full black Mouth Cur to replace her when she is gone. So..there you go. That's my experience with Black Mouth Curs.
