Some I don't have to pay for? Made out of plywood.. 3,4, 5 foot long..I'd appreciate it! Thanks..
I just built a nest box where the eggs roll out the front of the box but I didn't have plans, just off the top of my head.
jjdward , have you got any photos posted? That is really smart!
Yeah, on another thread but here they are again:
This might help, used 1x12", plywood back, 12x 14" openings. 48" at highest point, 38" at lowest point.
What angle is the floor of the boxes to let them roll? I would assume it he angle is to great the eggs will break?
I learned something today..... I'll bet I spent about an hour and a half searching the internet for nestbox plans. Then I had a lightbulb moment, , go to BYC, and ask for HELP! And of course, You GREAT people came through, as usual! Thanks, jjdward! Thanks, snakeoil! It's just what I needed! If I bend over, will you promise NOT to kick too hard?? haha.. BYC ROCKS!
On mine, I put a one inch slope from front to back. The total depth of the floor from front to back is 22 inches. On the front lip ot the tray I'm going to put a strip of carpet to help protect the eggs.
Try these made out of cut down 25Litre plastic drums (about 6.5 gallons?). http://forum.backyardpoultry.com/viewtopic.php?t=7064
They allow for rollaway and can be closed at night to stop roosting.
