I am in Eastern Georgia and am trying to start Breeding Silver Laced Wyandottes soon. I have about 8 hens and a few smaller pullets right now. All I am needing is a Rooster. I am having a hard time finding anyone close that breeds them. Im planning a long drive this month to pick up a couple more hens and a rooster then I will be in business. I can let you know when I get going and also if I can possibly get a few smaller chicks from someone else this month. How far are you from Augusta Ga?
Do they seem to do OK in the heat? I know there's lots of ways to keep your chickens cool, but everything I read about these birds touts their cold-hardiness. Anyone having problems with them in these HOT Carolina summers?
Thanks for any advice...
