I don't think there's any rules against owning livestock (chickens mainly) since there's plenty of people out here with chickens and horses. But i just want to make sure. I looked on the Kern County website and I didn't see anything about livestock, I looked through it over and over to check.

What city are you in? Or are you just in the County? If you're in a city, you'll have to look up that city's municipal code. FYI, you'll probably be looking for "fowl" for rules regarding chickens, which is regulated differently than "livestock". Cities, like Bakersfield, can be found here https://www.backyardchickens.com/laws/search.php
