Anyone know if quail are legal in Philadelphia? Or any other large city?

I've seen someone selling them here before but I'm still not sure if they're legal. Chickens aren't but there's no information on game birds. I tried calling a few places but kept getting transferred and nobody seemed to even know what a quail was. I left a message with someone supervisor at some animal thing so I hope I can get an answer but I'm impatient.

Any quail indigenous to the Americas require a licence ($5 per year in most states). Old world quail (from Europe ) do not require licensing. Coturnix are old world quail. Bobwhites are new world quail.

Call your state wildlife agency they will be the organization that manages whatever regulations your state has. Every state is different.
