Anyone know what a Maurhen/Muarhen is?

I'm in my city's production of Honk!, a musical about the ugly duckling. And I am a chicken! haha. Anyways, some people were asking questions about birds and I answered them. So now they know I'm crazy about birds, but I don't care

. One question was what a Maurhen is. And I have no idea. I've looked in the dictionary and searched a few search engines. Anyone know?

A moorhen is a wild wading bird, sort of like a coot. Could this be what they are asking?

um, I guess that makes sense. The bird in the play that's a "maurhen" is named "maureen" so maybe that's where it came from...play on words, you know? and a moorhen could make sense because Maureen is best friends with the duck who hatches the ugly duckling. Thanks!

I LOVE coots; neat Dr Seuss birds. That would be a super fun costume to make--I'm pretty sure that moorhens have equally silly looking feet.
