    A very messy gold duckwing. They happen, and I've had roosters with varying degrees of breast leakage in the past, but nothing that red.

    Like with Blue Swedish Ducks, even if the colours are pure, the offspring aren't always perfectly marked.

    He reminds me a little of a Ginger Red or a Gold Buttercup, slate legs and all. However, black in the breast says otherwise. :) I'm not an expert, though, so don't take my word too seriously.

    Did he resemble either of these as a chick? One is a Sicilian Buttercup, which would represent Gold Buttercup down color. The other is a Ginger Red OEGB.

    i thought he was quail oe when he was younger. Then he looked mille fleur lol

    He looks like a hatchery quality ginger red.

    Your description sounds quite similar to Ginger Red OEGB chicks. Both Mille Fleur and Quail are grizzled gray with orange heads/faces....like Ginger Red.

    He's one beautiful young man. :love
