ALL ads must be in our Buy/Sell/Trade section, please.
put them on craigs list for sale, they will be gone in a day or 2 and you will get a bit of money back. I would get them but I have over 60 eggs hatching right now.
Quote:I've already tried that twice, but keep getting my ads deleted because you can't list "pets" on craigslist. Yes, I know most chicken owners love their chickens like pets, but I feel like chickens can be dual purpose and not used as a pet at all. Anyway....craigslist didn't work out too well! I would rather give them away fro free! Thanks for the advice though!
no you have to put them in the farm and livestock section. I put Chicks on the eastern NC craigslist farm and live stock section all the time.
Why on earth are you moving to a place that has such rules?
Quote:My husband got transferred to a different site for work and he doesn't want to commute over an hour each way. We found this house and love it and were told it didn't have an HOA since it's a 50 year old neighborhood. We put our offer in and then it turns out there is an HOA except it has really relaxed rules and only $20 a year in dues, but one of the 7 rules the covenants states is no poultry or livestock of any kind. I could probably try and fight that, but if I don't win I'd have to find a new home for my chickens anyway. It's complicated because even where we live right now I'm not allowed to have roosters so I need to get rid two of my chickens anyway and if any of the other 4 whos sex are still unknown are roos they will have to find them a new home as well. Sorry so long.
do you still have the chickens?
I live in smithfield and will take them all and give them a good home
I would fight that ruling as soon as I got settled in. Most places will allow hens only and will have a limit on how many you can have. I have some friends that did this and now the neighborhood they live in allows 3 chickens, No Roosters. I'm sure glad I live in the country.
