The first LGD I got was an older guy that needed rescue, had been abandoned, and taking him in was the best thing I ever did, I never lost a chicken after the day he arrived. He was a Maremma and this guy reminds me so much of him.
I wish I was closer, I'd take him in a heartbeat. I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year or I'd drive down there now, if he is still there next week I probably will then. I'm such a softy for the older ones that end up in shelters.
