anyone use America's choice mini flake bedding for baby chicks?

I've always used America's Choice brand "Eco-flake" for my brooder pen, but I didn't see any when I was at the farm store last week. There were bags of America's Choice "Mini-Flake," and I figured that sounded like it would do. When I opened it up, however I failed to see the "flake." "Mini" yes. To me it looks like very coarse sawdust. But I'd already removed the old litter from the pen, so I scooped it in. The little gals instantly started pecking it, though they did slow down when I put their food back in. I'm just worried that they are going to eat more of the litter than is good for him. I would feel very reassured if someone could tell me that they use this product for baby chicks.
