Very beautiful sheep! :love

They are beautiful! I just found out that @Claires Poultry has sheep. :D

Yes, I also have sheep..... well kind of. I don't do much with them though, my brothers feed them and water them and sometimes I help them move them to new pasture. They are Jacob sheep, a smaller heritage breed, like the ones Jacob had in the bible. They can grow up to 6 horns each, and they can even have an odd number of horns.
Today we butchered 5 of our wethers. I think we have 1 ram and 5 ewes left, plus their babies from this year.

Ooh, please share a picture! I’d love to see what they look like!!

I don't mind sharing a picture, but they're way out in the pasture and they won't let you get very close to them, so I think it would be very hard to get a pic. Also the ram we currently have doesn't have that fancy of horns.
Just search "Jacob sheep" on Google and you will find LOTS of pics.

I would like to know more about this sheep bloom stuff. Is that a UK thing or do they do here in the states too?

I says it’s a UK thing as it’s always been traditional for this breed never to be shown in there natural white state (I think it’s to make the head and legs stand out better ) , the bloom it’s self is a powder (can come as a concentrate liquid) that you mix in water an spray on the sheep (or dip the sheep in a dipper) ... every breeder has there own unique colour (I happen to like gold yellow ) but they can only be between the colours of orange, yellow or brown.. it’s water based so will come
Off in 6-12 weeks (depending how strong you put it on)

Suffolks aren’t the only breed shown like this tho , Hampshire’s , oxford down , texel , beltex , Charolais are all shown this way but most breeds keep the colour lighter so it’s harder to tell
