For those of you who missed the thread I had posted where my hens dug up a diamond anniversary ring in my barn, I will rewind a bit. About a week ago Lockedhearts and I walked out to my barn to check and see if my black copper hens had laid any eggs and we happened to look down and find a ring in the dirt. At first glance we both thought it to be sterling silver and cubic zirconia. Upon cleaning up the ring it dawned on us that it was in fact white gold and diamonds. Now, for the results of todays trip: We took the ring today and had a jeweler appraise it. I was told by a very astonished consultant that the ring was quite old and all hand made and not cast as modern rings are made. The faint file marks of the artisan are visable on the gold. It has over a karat of very good quality diamonds and is worth over $1000 even in todays bad market!
