I want to try making an incubator out of a 10 gallon aquarium... My idea is, to put tin pie pans on top of some newspaper, and add water (I will experiment with how much, to get the right humidity).. and on top of those, will be wire racks (like for baking)... and I would put the eggs in old egg cartons. I would put a heat lamp in there too... although, the tank already has a heater for reptiles in it, so I am going to test that out to see if that would be enough. I doubt it, though! 3 out of 4 sides will be covered with a fleece blanket, and I will have a screen covered mostly in cardboard on top. Just trying to think of a way to use what I have! Any thoughts on if this will work?? I want to try to hatch guineas in there, first, and some silkies later!
