Aracaunas or Americanas?

Is there a difference? When my dad purchased these two chickens, he said they were: Aracaunas (AIR-a-CONDAS), but on this forum, I've seen the word: Americanas or some sort.

There are three varieties you could be referring to:

Araucanas: Rumpless birds with or without tufts Lay blue or blue green eggs.

Ameraucanas: (NOT Americanas) Have tails, muffs and beards and either blue or slate legs. Most lay blue eggs.

Easter Eggers: Any combination of the above two varieties with other breeds/varieties. Most lay green eggs and some lay blue
