I hatched these cuties a few months ago from eggs I bought on ebay. I had posted pics a while back and here are updates. I'm curious about what you can tell me about them as I'm new to this breed.

    Two are rumpless:

And I have these two others.

    This is all four.

I love the social behaviour of these birds and am almost certain the blue one is a roo, but what do you think?

Maybe the blue one is the roo... I think the other three are pullets, except MAYBE the one to the left of the roo in the last pic. Hope this helps!

I think you have 2 roos. [IMG] The dark one to the left gives me a rooster vibe. LOL Seriously..... he does.

If I had to guess without getting anyone's imput, I would agree based on personality. The blue one acts like the macho tough guy he wants to be and the other dark one has similar behaviour but not as alpha male-ish.

Yep there is usually an alpha male even in chicks. All together they look like 3 hens and 1 roo, but if you separated them from the big blue one I just bet the other one would get a darker comb. [IMG] My friend ordered SSH and buff chanticleers. I kept her biggest two roos and sent the rest home with her. (She has bad luck with roos. So I was helping her out) Anyways she said since I took the biggest 2 some of the other roos had gotten redder combs. And going on color, I have never seen a hen that color. But I have had 3 roosters that color. [IMG] Hope it helps.
