Thought I'd share some pics I captured today of the araucana I have growing out. They are always a work in progress, but I am really happy with how things are going.

Here is our lavender cockerel for our lav araucana project. Even dd says she thinks I enhanced this first pic to make it look more purple, but I swear I didn't. Must have just been the way the sun or lack of sun was shining.

Oh, and we still haven't agreed upon a name for him yet.

Thanks Adam and Sara!

Sara - araucana are really a special breed and probably the most challenging in my opinion. I would definitely encourage you to get more. The beginning can be very frustrating but when you keep working on them, it is so much fun and exciting to watch them develop into beautiful birds.

Anne, somehow I knew you would like Sandy.

Here is a pic Holly. Isn't she a cutie? I love the wild type colors.

Thanks silkieluver..he is a perty boy. He has about another 2 weeks of quarantine and should be ready for his ladies then. I can't wait to start hatching babies from him.

Yeah, I know what you mean Anne. I love all the araucana, but the wild ones are a sight to behold.
