I have four purebred Araucana chicks from Gary Ramey hatching eggs that are three weeks old now! I figure some of you on here have better eyes for male or female than I do! What do ya'll think I have?

Here are my guesses (I basing these guesses off the number of peas I think I see on their combs, I've always been told males of pea combed breeds have 3 roads of peas). So...
    Chick #1- boy
    Chick #2- girl
    Chick #3- boy
    Chick #4- boy
I've never had Araucanas before, so I'm certainly not expert. I love the ear tufts on that first chick...ADORABLE!!!

My guess is that #3 is the only roo. I have EE hens with three row pea combs.

Oh what a treat! You don't often see pictures of these posted! Your first one is growing some nice tufts.

The only one that looks clearly male is the one you pointed out. On the 'just guessing' front, I would say number one is a suspicious character.

Post more pics as they grow! They'll be gorgeous.

X2- I was coming here expecting to say- oh, these are actually EE's.

I think the obvious male may be the only one, because the others look so different. But post again in a few weeks for clearer answers.

Hi. I'm new herre and to chickens. I hatched my first batch a few weeks ago. I would love to know how the chicks turned out. I have 2 araucanas that are 4 weeks old I'm trying to determine the sex of. They are out of a breeder in Georgia. I also have a lavender orpington from arkansas who is 3 weeks old. If anyone out there is still following this thread I can post some pics'

It's best to start your own new thread, there's a button at the top to click. Post pics, full body shots with legs, and be sure to let us know how old the birds are!
