Are Chickens Legal to Keep in Brockway, Pennsylvainia?

    I can't find anything about it and I don't know how to contact anyone about it. I live RIGHT inside the Bourogh lines.

    Hi! We used to live in Clearfield. :) We didn't have chickens then...anyhow...

    I would call city. Just tell them you cannot find anything and to direct you to the code/ordinance. One BIG caveat-don't take what they say as the law! The city may say, "no, they are not allowed." Okay, then find by checking the code. Go by what the code says. I have found that the city employees are more than happy to give you their two-cents, regardless of what is legally on the books. It's not up to them! Ask for the actual code section and read it yourself. If there is not anything addressing it, then it is legal.

    Our code is vague. City has been trying to amend it and get something official on the books for YEARS. By the letter of the code, not illegal. But, if you talked to a city employee here, they would have you believe that. :/ And most people assume it is not legal because that is what they were led to believe. :(
