I'm going to raise ducklings (Khaki Campbells) for the first time next year and am ordering males and females. It made me wonder if drakes can be aggressive and almost territorial like roosters are sometimes. If so, are there any ways to prevent it or simply calm the boy down?

My boys have never been aggressive toward me, my husband or our two small dogs. In fact, they only come within like 3 feet of me and that's when I'm feeding.

In general no....Drakes are great..Depending on the Drake, spring time and raging hormones is usually the time they start protecting the ladies.....It depends on the Drake.....

Every drake is different but my Pekin drake, he's the meanest duck I have. He always picks fights with my Muscovys and chases me while I'm around him. But that's my Duckie [IMG]!
