Here are my 11 week old pullets. My question is, are they two different breeds?

Rose has a yellow comb and grey legs

Blanche has a red comb and yellow legs.

Just for fun these are my other two. Of course, I'm only guessing on these. I have no idea.

Dorothy, a white leghorn

Sophia (a barred rock??)

Yes, they are.

This is what I think:

Rose-Black Jersey Giant
Blanche- Black Sex Link, aka Black Star
You are correct on the others. :)

I'm glad I saw this. Blanche looks like one of my pullets, "Dominique." Some told me they thought she was a Black Copper Marans cross. Now I'm not at all sure about that, however Dominique has very dark legs. It's likely I'll have to wait until November — when she starts laying dark brown eggs (or not).
CindyMichelle3, we lived in Tulsa for 27 years; couldn't have chickens. Should've lived in the country!

Thanks for your help! The Jersey Giants typically have red combs I thought... this is where I get so confused!

Hooligan! Gotta love Oklahoma!

If yours has dark legs, than she is probably a Black Copper Maran or a BCM cross. I am 95% certain that Cindy has a Black Sex Link though.

Don't thank me yet — I could be all wet! I'm still confused, too. Someone else thought I had Black Jersey Giants as well.
We'll always have a special place in our hearts for Oklahoma, but especially Oklahomans — "Salt of the Earth" wonderful people. We still have many close friends there and keep in touch.

A fun thread would be "What are the names of your chickens?"
We've named them alphabetically, except for a duplicate "B"-named chicken. The BR grownups are Amelia, Bonnie, Camille, (and Buster the rooster). Then the BCMs are Dominique, Emma, and Francois (a cockerel).
