Here I am again.. More pictures.. same chickens ...
I'm totally new at this. I've been reading your forum and looking at all the pictures.. and I STILL am confused about my chickens.

I am trying to learn and understand what to look for.
They are 19 weeks old now!! that's NINETEEN weeks... someone PLEASE tell me when do they show saddle feathers? When do they look like the pictures of roosters that I've seen?
I'm attaching lots of pics for you to look at. PLEASE tell me if you think they are roos... why? what do I look for so that I can tell? You are such an educated bunch of people! I envy your experience. I would like to learn from it.
I look forward to your responses

This is a picture of all 8 of my chickens. The red ones were sold to me as pullets. The golden laced are the ones in real question, however if you see anything in this picture that looks "rooish" I would like to know. I appreciate you!!

At 19 weeks, those are both girls. You should definitely be seeing saddle feathers by now and the coloration would be different if they were cockerels. I would guess you should be seeing eggs soon if you aren't already.

The GLWs look like ours, so I would say that you have 3 GIRLS!! On another note - they took the longest to start laying, so even though they are 19 weeks, don't give up hope yet. Here is a picture of our Lucy, when she was about 22 weeks old.

Yup I agree with Sandy16 about waiting for eggs. My GLW and SLW were around six months before they started laying.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!!!!!

I am so happy to find out I have hens. I am also TOTALLY AMAZED!! since I got them from a straight run bin!! How did I do that???

I did not want to have to give any of them up. I was wondering about saddle feathers, and all the signs that I should have been watching for. It's no wonder I didn't see them if they're HENS!

You have made me soooo happy

I haven't thought about eggs yet! I guess I should be thinking about that... LOL.. I have the nesting boxes in the coop and I did notice that someone has been smashing down the bedding in there. I read that they can lay as early as 20 weeks. Time flies when you're having fun!!
You all are AWESOME! I've gotten so much out of reading this forum.
