Are my Golden Laced roos??

I'd say give them a bit to be sure. Ignoring the odd feather on that one they all seem very round and chunky and hennish in addition to really pale combs for those ages.. I really don't want to say roo because the tail feather doesn't even seem all that rooish in shape to me ...

The last 3 pics are roos. I just went throught the same thing as you. Had to give him away. No matter how hard I tried to "stare" him into a hen, that dang sickle feather kept getting longer and greener.
On the bright side, I added two Buff Orpingtons to the herd and they are the sweetest, most gentle breed I've had. They love to be held and purr when I pet them.
All's well.

I'm going to say the one that has the least amount of tail is a roo, that has the large tail feather sticking up. The one with a big tail is a pullet.

I agree with Zaxby. The last one could definitely be a roo. But their combs aren't very red or anything, so I'd wait

The combs on our were the last thing to change...go by the body shape and those tail feathers. If you look close are there any saddles coming up yet? They should look pretty shiney compaired to the rest of the feathers.

Thank you for your responses.
I think I'm going to wait a couple more weeks before I panic. Maybe.. just maybe.. they aren't all three roos.

None of them seem to have any different personality than my pullets. They are as gentle and friendly as they can be.
The only thing I noticed is that one of them always has to be on the top roost at night. I'm thinking that one is definately a roo.

I'll post new pictures in a couple weeks. I'm new to all this, and really have no idea what I'm looking for. Saddle feathers? don't know what to look for.
I was confused because my red pullets are getting their combs in now and these three really aren't yet.

Thank you colebarnhart for your pictures.. wow! what beautiful chickens. I would be tempted to keep a roo if it looked like that!

I did notice on the neck of the rooster the feathers are more gold and on the hen there is more black. My chickens seem to have the more gold feathers on the neck. again though.. wow! what beautiful chickens they are!!
