Today is day 16...I felt like they were small on day 13/14 so my humidity has been about 40-45 the past two days to catch them up...they have gotten bigger. Are they looking good? I’m nervous! I have only had to take 4 of my 48 eggs out. The rest have babies!

I’m not sure if it’ll get down that low. The water had already ran dry and I’ve only had a 1/8 measuring cup of water in there. I just took it out so we will see! I hope they get big enough for them to all hatch well ☹️

Still pretty small. Can you run dry for a few days? Or mostly dry? Try for 25-30% until lockdown.

Here are the cells today..day 17. I have it running dry but the humidity is about 35-38 still

If it were me, I would take the lid off and let the eggs cool and dry for 15 minutes, once maybe twice a day. I'd NOT increase humidity for lockdown until you have internal pipping.

It's commonly around 24 hours from internal to external pip and they don't need high humidity to avoid problems until EXTERNAL pip.

Right now, again, if it were me, I'd want those air cells bigger before they start to hatch.

Cooling will also buy you a tiny bit more time to get the air cells larger.

ON SECOND THOUGHT

Are you 100% sure on the dates? And temperature? Because the chicks in there don't look like day 17.

Yes I am sure on the date. My incubators counts the days also...and it’s set to 38 degrees Celsius. I did not have another thermometer so I’m just hoping it’s correct. They seem to be doing great except for the air cells! Lots of movement in them.

I'm guessing your thermometer is off, and temp is too low. Which means it's not actually an air cell problem.

By day 17 incubation with correct temps there shouldn't be that much visible in the top of the egg/under the air cell. the dark mass that is the chick should be taking up that space and making the vascular system non-visible.

So what do you think I should do?
