Are these duck eggs???

    I went out today to the hen house and i found these 2 eggs in a little box i had made for my ducks to lay eggs in......i found these 2......do you know what they are?? I have a buff hen and a blue sweed hen the should have been laying sometime around this time........buuut i have never had duck eggs before.

    They look like duck eggs. The shell is different on duck eggs. If you run your fingers across a chicken egg it will feel almost chalky compared to a duck egg. Duck eggs feel like porcelain and they're dirtier than chicken eggs.

    Are there more eggs than usual? If so than yes...they must be duck eggs, also....can you post a pic comparing them to a Chicken Egg?

    Try cracking one--my duck eggs are like trying to crack open rocks compared to my chicken eggs.

    I'd say duck eggs, having never owned a chicken willing to start laying this time of year. But I can go one step further by asking what kind of buff hen you have? If she's a buff breed that lays brown eggs, you have an answer for sure!

    I would say definitely Duck.....when I had ducks on the pond, they looked like that....Great for Baking..
