Hi everyone, I am new to identifying the gender of chickens when they are young. We have had only hens in the past. This time, we picked up 6 10 week old Brahmas and would love some help identifying the gender. I was told they are Brahmas, the guy I picked them up off was breeding them himself. If someone could help identifying the breed as well, that would be great. Thank you.

For easy identification, let's just call them by their colours
Light brown
Dark brown
Black
Biggest light brahma (Pic 3 and 5)
Speckled black

Sorry I know that is very entry level way of identifying them but I have no idea what exact breed they are.

Thank you so much for everyone's help!!

Thank you so much for your help. I thought we might have a couple of boys in there, the last one had a redder comb, but it is also bigger but he/her body looks like hen. I am not sure...I will update when they grow bigger :)

I would say all are females except maybe the last picture, i think in 2 weeks at 12 weeks of age if there is no male specific saddle feathers it should be a female. and that most of them are brahmas except for the first 2 pictures. Here is a example of male to female specific feathers

Thank you everyone for helping. I have taken a closer up of this little one. Does anyone have any idea if this little one might be a cockerel or pullet? His/her comb is not as red but his/her tail feathers kinda look like male saddle feathers? 😅

On the second picture, the other 2 light brahmas, from their body feathers, it looks like pullets?

Here is a picture of all of them just chilling :)

All look like pullets except maybe the one in the last picture.
Brahmas are a slower maturing breed so update in a couple more weeks.
Male specific feathering doesn't show up until at about 12 weeks of age.
